Could there be a convocation of all the churches of earth, the object of their united cry should be for the Holy Spirit. – (2 Manuscript Release – 24)

Hello Church Family,

Within 10 days of sending out the Operation Global Rain Letter, we have received responses from Conference presidents, pastors, and members alike from around the globe wanting to participate. With no budget to work with, our expectations have been far surpassed by the rapidity of what is happening. It reminds us of statements like these found in the pen of inspiration.

Let me tell you that the Lord will work in this last work in a manner very much out of the common order of things, and in a way that will be contrary to any human planning…God will use ways and means by which it will be seen that He is taking the reins in His own hands. The workers will be surprised by the simple means that He will use to bring about and perfect His work of righteousness. – (Testimonies to Ministers, p. 300) 

I have been deeply impressed by scenes that have recently passed before me in the night season. There seemed to be a great movement--a work of revival--going forward in many places. Our people were moving into line, responding to God's call.— (General Conference Bulletin, May 29, 1913, p. 34.)

The Operation Global Rain Team of pastors understand that this mission is bigger than men, and that we need divine wisdom to know how to follow God's lead for His plans for His church. Many of you have emailed us concerning the need for preparation for this event, and we understand and agree that a "work of revival" and reformation is essential for God's church, an experience of the early rain to prepare us for the latter rain. Nothing would be greater than coming up to this major event with our hands and hearts already clean before God, that He may pour out His spirit on a repentant people.

Prayerfully consider this inspired statement:

The third angel's message is swelling into a loud cry, and you must not feel at liberty to neglect the present duty, and still entertain the idea that at some future time you will be the recipients of great blessing, when without any effort on your part a wonderful revival will take place. . . . Today you are to have your vessel purified, that it may be ready for the heavenly dew, ready for the showers of the latter rain; for the latter rain will come, and the blessing of God will fill every soul that is purified from every defilement. It is our work today to yield our souls to Christ, that we may be fitted for the time of refreshing from the presence of the Lord--fitted for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. (Evangelism – 701)

The objective of a "Global Surge" is the united study of and pray for:

  1. A deeper spirit of humility, repentance, prayer and revival in preparation for the 10 days.

  2. The putting away of animosity between members of the church in preparation for the 10 days.

  3. The breaking down of all barriers of separation among God's church in preparation for the 10 days.

  4. The putting away of things that are separating us from Christ in preparation for the 10 days.

  5. The unity of the church based upon our greatest need, Christ our Righteousness in preparation for the 10 days.

  6. An individual burden for souls.
